in this video we'll show you how to plan work for the members of your team using tempo planner the first step in planning work is to link one or more JIRA projects to your team this lets you drag-and-drop issues directly onto a team planning timeline Taylor left off with her team red Slayers permissions where she made sure that she and all her team members had plan time permission so from here she goes to links in the sidebar and then selects tango on-demand from the project drop-down then she clicks plus link she could link more projects to the team if she wanted but this one project is enough for now to assign her team to JIRA issues she clicks the tango on demand project name to open it up and then selects an issue that includes work that she wants her team to work on there's no team field displayed in this issue so Taylor edits it and adds red flare as the team when she clicks update the team's name shows up here Taylor continues to add the red flare team to several other issues that she wants them to work on when she's done she goes back to her team's overview by selecting red flare from the tempo menu under teams now Taylor has everything set up for her to plan work on the tango on-demand project for the members of this team to do this she clicks the planning tab on the right to go to tempo planner and here she can see the timeline up here she can check that she's got the correct time period shown where she wants to plan work on the suggestions sidebar on the right Taylor selects the category to view which is backlog and this is a quick way to display only the issues to which she's added her team starting with Beverly she drags an issue from the sidebar and drops it on her timeline she quickly realizes that it's the wrong issue so she right clicks on it and selects delete this removes the plan for the issue from Beverly's timeline but it doesn't delete the issue itself she adds the correct issue for Beverly this creates a plan for only two days so she drags the right end to extend it to cover the full week of work which gives 20 hours notice that it's only for four hours a day instead of eight because of Beverly's reduced availability for this team Taylor continues to plan work by dragging an issue on to Robert's timeline it takes up 40 hours for the week so she clicks the plan to open it then reduces the hours per day and this is because she wants to add another issue for Robert to work on for this week so Taylor drags that issue to his timeline again she edits the number of hours per day so that he has a total of 40 hours for the week she continues by adding work to Tanya's timeline this time by clicking in a cell which opens up the create plan dialog in the sidebar she selects an issue and sets the end date four hours per day instead of eight is good since Tanya's availability is at 50% for this team with their first week of work planned Taylor feels that team red flare is well on its way in the next video we'll show you how to view a team's capacity and get an overview of the resources you
